Then why not get in touch with Greta Brown, a qualified Holistic Massage Therapist and Facialist offering a mobile service throughout the West and Northern Lakes.

Greta thoroughly enjoys being a Holistic Therapist,  and finds it is personally very rewarding to make people look and feel good with my facial treatments, or to relieve stress, anxiety or pain with her therapeutic body massages.

She works with Essential oils, basalt and marble stones, crystals, spices, flowers and herbs. She also has a great affinity with crystals and the Chakra energy centers of the body and often works with them. She also uses crystals to recharge and revitalise people who are going through a stressful time.

Whats on in the Lake District throughout the summer holidays

On most days there is something going on in the Lake District, however here is a list of some of the bigger festivals, unique and annual events taking place during the school summer holidays:

Thursday 25th July - Ambleside Sports. Traditional Lakeland Events including Cumberland Wrestling, Hound Trails, Track Races, Rydal Round Fell Race and Cycle Races. Adults £6, under 12s FREE, 12-17 yr olds £3.

Friday 26th  to Sunday 28th July - Kendal Calling. The Lake District's version of Glastonbury. Music Festival at Lowther Deer Park, near Penrith. Tickets may still be available from Penrith Tourist Information 01768 867466.

The following events and activities are going on throughout the Lake District over the Easter weekend which will help keep the family entertained, and make sure you have a fantastic and memorable Easter short break in the Lake District:

Friday 29th and Sunday 31st March - Easter Extravaganza at Brockhole Visitors Centre (approx half way between Windermere and Ambleside)

Treasure hunts, face painting, and a special visit from the Brockhole Bunny. Activities are free and start at 11.00

Friday 29th Kendal's Farmers Market

9:30am - 3:30pm - Held the last Friday of every month in the market square, the Made in Cumbria Farmers Market offers the very best in locally produced foods.

Cumbria Dog Training

Witnessing a flock of sheep running frantically from an out of control dog is a distressing sight. And for some pets, it culminates in them being shot, quite legally, by the farmer.

So two years ago, one Cumbrian dog trainer decided to tackle the problem, benefitting owner and farmer alike.

Janet Ardley, owner of Cumbria Dog Training, (http://www.cumbria-dog-training.com ) teamed up with a farming neighbour and devised a training plan that offered something completely different – the chance for owners to bring their dogs into a field of sheep and train them in a controlled manner, to ignore the Herdwicks and Swaledales of this world.
