North Lodge is an enchanting Lakeland stone lodge of immense character over three floors, which was built in 1879 and nestling beside Longtail Wood a short distance from the lake. Previously owned by Beatrix Potter and our former family home. Enter a small porch with space for outdoor clothing and boots. Beyond beckons a truly unique beamed open plan living room with separate dining and kitchen areas created from the original cosy lodge, which overlooks the garden and woods.
Upstairs you will find the master bedroom with woodland views and its own bathroom with W/C and wash basin. Downstairs overlooking the garden are two further bedrooms with the second bathroom. A wild flower garden awaits you with gurgling stream and visiting deer and squirrels. The garden is screened from North Cottage via an area of fencing for a secluded feel.
The Lake and all its attractions are only a 10 minute walk and the centre of the village is ¾ mile away. Bowness on Windermere has a wide choice of restaurants, pubs, cafes, takeaways, shops, supermarkets, cinema, theatre and the World of Beatrix Potter Museum. Within a short walk or drive you can catch the ferry to get to the other side of the lake and Beatrix Potter country.
All you could want for the perfect holiday is on your doorstep.
A car is not essential as Windermere train station is less than 2 miles away from North Lodge.
